Was wondering what your advice would be. I’m applying to Brown Early Decision and I took the SAT IIs yesterday (Nov 1 in my time zone). I think I screwed up really badly though.

The other day I burned my feet in gymnastics, once again while rock climbing, and a third time from wearing high heels >.> (mat burn, wall burn, shoe burn?) So I was pretty distracted with my feet throbbing in pain for the 2 hours (especially cuz it hurts if I’m sitting in an upright position like at a desk). It was pretty drastic, I was leaving bloody footprints wherever I walked so I had to get them bandaged which hurt more… (Btw my problem on the tests was that I ran out of time before i could finish).

Anyway, I was wondering if it would be a good idea to email or contact the Office of Admission at Brown to ask if I can retake in either December or January? Is this a good idea? I really don’t think I did well on the Subject Tests (math II and bio e)

Am also considering cancelling my scores but I dont know if that will be a good idea or not.

I would call them and see what they say. As soon as I saw the words Bloody footprints, your excuse sounded reasonable to me. If your scores are really horrible, or if you cancel them and don’t have any of the Subject Tests, I’m not sure they’d be able to accept at the you ED. I would think they’d have to wait for your December retakes to come in. Maybe they’ll move you to RD?

Hey i had a similar problem in october. I was giving Math and Bio M but my calculator stopped working during the Math so I had to cancel it. my bio was pathetic too (I ended up with a 670) so I mailed them and told them about the calculator problem. They were understanding about it and asked me to continue applying ED by attaching a letter of explaination. Also, 2 days before my october SAT, I lost my aunt who died after getting charred to death. I was pretty affected by it but I didn’t tell them this because I thought they’d think id be making excuses. In your case I think you should mention your situation

Wow aspire - I’m sorry about your aunt. That must have been really tough to deal with.
Thanks for your reply though.

I’m calling them when its Tuesday in my time zone (since they’re open Mon-Fri). I hope I can retake… hopefully in Jan but I can work with Dec too. I really want to get into Brown. >.<
