Shoot, I'm an idiot.

I submitted Part 2 of my MIT application yesterday. It's gone now; I can't edit it further.

I forgot to indicate that I'm a National Merit Semifinalist and an AP Scholar with Distinctions (although all my APs and scores are listed).

AGH. Is there anything I can do about this? Call or email the admissions office? Would my efforts be hopeless? If I get deferred, am I allowed to edit my application for regular decision?

I'm really distressed about this, I can't believe I forgot to include such important distinctions. Help and information would be much appreciated.

Don't stress. it. Email them with your name, phone #, and I'm pretty sure MIT probably gave you an ID#. Add that in there also and let them know about your accomplishments. Ask them also to please give you a confirmation email so you know that they have included it in your application.

Thank you so much! I'll try that.

If they don't answer your email soon though, and this is urgent for you, then you might consider calling them yourself as well. I mean, they get thousands of emails and I don't know what the process of answering them is - but phone numbers come with specific office hours and mean you could reach them quickly without worrying.

I don't want to be that girl, but... if MIT rejects you, it will not be just because you forgot to elaborate on your AP scores. I don't think it's a big deal.

Ah, true enough. I do still want to contact them about it, but I guess I won't be in such a frenzy about it.

Thanks for all the help though.

Agree with House of London, give it a try!
