shoot problem with names and recommendations

<p>I told my teacher to write my rec and address me as my English name, "Steven." However, that is not my legal name that will be put on my college apps and other materials. She has already finished the rec and it says Steven. Would it be okay to have my recs with the name Steven, and just fill in the "prefered" name box with Steven on the common app? </p>

<p>I'd be a pain to ask my teacher who recently moved to redo the rec. Would calling the college be ok?</p>

<p>I think it would be just fine if you put Steven as your preferred name. I wouldn't even bother calling colleges.</p>
