<p>Yes it could have happened anywhere. There are two points on this- it happened off campus, rather far off campus from what I have been told by Hofstra, and the police were at fault, they killed the student. That makes me more afraid of the police than the criminals.</p>
<p>I read their rental house was a block from the school which is not far from campus. Hempstead is NOT a safe area.</p>
