Penn Police kill suspect in strip club at 38th and Chestnut

Officer shoots suspect after he turned his gun on police; incident is second shooting at the intersection in the last month

A Penn Police officer shot and killed a man accused of shooting a disc jockey inside a local strip club at 38th and Chestnut streets early this morning. Vice President for Public Safety Maureen Rush said two Penn police officers on routine patrol were flagged down by a group of people outside Club Wizzards shortly after midnight.

I was suprised to hear that there was a strip club in the basement of Chilis - you learn something new every day. Upstairs they are serving fajitas and quesadillas. Downstairs - something else. Who knew?

sometimes in chills you can feel the bass rumbling through the floor. Real classy.

Anyway the difference between this and other shootings is that this one involved the Penn police doing their jobs and shooting bad guys. Their deaths should be a message that university city is not a place they can expect to roam about with no consequences.

I can only hope the Penn police shoot more gun-wielding criminals in the future.

well it WOULD, if the place weren’t closed down until further notice.

I certainly hope Penn is putting heavy pressure on them to close down for good. It’s kind of ridiculous and embarrassing having a STRIP CLUB 1 block away from Huntsman Hall…

Something tells me there isn’t a strip club 1 block away from Harvard Business School.
