Shopping?

RE: UV - Like everyone else said, Superior will do if you're in a rush and live in the dorms, but it doesn't have the best selection. There's plenty of snacks at Commons and Trojan Grounds that you can spend your dining dollars on. Don't forget about Cafe 84 too, which has a Jamba Juice and pretty good food.

Typically, I go to the UV if I need to put air in my bike, buy some electronic item (Radio Shack), or feel like eating international food (food court). There's also a pharmacy there, but the pharmacy at the Student Union should meet all your needs.

There's also a Smart and Final across the street from campus on Vermont if you want to buy in bulk.

In terms of the bookstore, I find I only go there to purchase USC clothing, and small school supplies (blue books, binders, paper, etc.). Not that I don't support the bookstore, but textbooks are ridiculously expensive, so I recommend you buy them off of Half.com, Amazon, or search on BigWords.com or CampusI.com. I probably saved about 60% of the price I would've paid to buy the books in the bookstore USED.
