Short answer 260 words with 200 limit? Can I get feedback?

I have two short answers for Tufts that are 262 and 264 words long and the site says give them a 200 word answer. Is this too long? I've already cut it down from about 280 each and I think if I reduce it more it won't be as good.

Also can someone give me feedback on them?

i'll take a look

No dude, the Tufts application police will come after you. Sorry.

In all seriousness, I think that 230 words would probably be pushing it, but it would be allowable. In my opinion, I believe that 262-264 words is a bit much. Based on the 200 word requirement, they may not pay too much attention to the question in.... question than what you would like to believe.

Just my opinion. And seriously, don't tempt the admissions police on those 262 words.

yeah, i've heard that a good rule is to not go more than 10% over the limit. see if you can take out a couple of sentences or unnecessary words

ill take a look

ok i guess ill try to cut down,

would 630 be too much for the 500 word common app essay though? My friend said he submitted a 700+ essay and got accepted into CMU but I'm not sure if admissions people would like a 630 word essay. Anyone know?

hahaha im applying to tufts, had the same probelm

keep it to 215 or less

I'll look at them. I had the exact same problem several other applications, so I am a pro cutter-downer.

thanks! I was going to ask this too. Mine are long as well. BAAH

I'll help if u still need it.

can you help me dear? i need to cut them

thanks anyways guys but I already did it and sent them in. i got them down to 212 and 213. wish me luck

i got mine down to the exact word count it was hard keep at it
