Short Answer & "Additional Info"?

1) The short answer for one of your 'activities' is required, correct?

2) If so, in what kind of tone should you write this- creatively or like a resume?

3) Does the additional info have a word limit?

4) Would you recommended using it?

5) If yes, what kind of information do you include in there?

I wrote my short answer more creatively, but was told to keep it a little more focused. I think compromise is key.

1) I wrote a simple paragraph about one of my activities and what it meant to me. You don’t have space to develop any intricate thought process, really, because by the time you develop it you’ll have run out of space without getting to what you originally wanted to say. Just write with your own voice and make sure you’re really saying something–keep the fluff to a minimum.

2) I used the additional info to submit a resume that was a lot more organized and extensive than the part of the Common App where you put in your activities. There is no word limit; it’s a Microsoft Word document upload. For obvious reasons I wouldn’t upload tons and tons of pages but there is no word limit.

How long was your resume? And why did you need if you had the chance to list jobs and activities already?
