what does everyone think of this

Few words can describe my concern for awareness, particularly awareness about Asian culture. I grew up plagued by the common misconceptions rampant among mainstream society. I was even subjected to a handful of obsenities. What’s important is that we find a way to bridge that gap between misconception and reality to foster a new understanding for people’s backgrounds. Given these circumstances, I took it upon myself to start a club no other school had wanted to start. I called it Asian Cultural Studies Club, a club that dealt with issues too touchy to bring up. We had discussions over racial tension, affirmative action, sociology, stereotypes, and even similar issues within our school. It was the act of starting a club that gave me the strong sense of leadership and commitment that I had previously lacked. And with this leadership ability I was able to help people overcome previous barriers that would have otherwise hurt them.
