Short Calculus and Physics I (College Algebra) in the same semester

Hey everyone, I am currently an undergraduate student planning to graduate in two years. Part of my core requirements is that I take Physics and Short Calculus which I am fine with doing, I neglected math in high school and during my junior year of college I decided to change majors from nutrition to construction management, part of our required core is taking physics and short calc. Before I can take Structures I (which is only offered during Fall semester) and Structures II (only offered during spring) I need to take these two classes. Since I neglected Math in high school it has came back to haunt me and I am now in beginner algebra and my plan is to then take intermediate algebra this fall (2017) and then college algebra during the spring (2018). I was wondering if taking Physics I (college algebra based) and Short Calc during the summer would be too much. Like I said earlier after this I will be able to take structures I & II which they recommend to take after those courses. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Hey @Spyderboys, I’m planning to start college this fall as an undergrad but I don’t plan to spend 4 years in college to get my B.S. Instead, I 'm taking some courses online through Collegeboard’s CLEP program. It’s basically an exam you take for any desired college course you choose, and if you pass, you get college credit for that class. More and more colleges are added to Collegeboard’s program. This is what I’m doing for many of my math credits. If you know the material, like Intermediate Algebra or College Algebra, I’d recommend taking this route to save you time and money.

Can you talk to the head of the math department or your advisor on what they suggest as a math progression to get you ready for Short calculus?
Taking phsyics and a math class during the summer would be probably too much work at once.
