<p>I submitted a really random creepy well written story along with my appliacation as the extra essay. It had nothing to do with me but adds creativity to my application. Was that a good thing?</p>

<p>well i think it can only help if it's "optional." i liked mine bc it was a big metaphor, but i hope my adcom is interested enough to actually realize that. otherwise the story is pointless :</p>
<p>Mine was a faux news article concerning YouTube's slaying of MTV.</p>
<p>By creepy I mean that it was like one of those thriller stories. Like those that are sudden and have shocking conclusion. </p>
<p>Unfortunately, there was no metaphor in mine. It was just an example of my writing skills and creative mind. Or that's what it's supposed to be...</p>

<p>I think that sounds good. I wouldn't worry about not having a metaphor. I read in a college essay book that one of the biggest cliches is the essay about a sports situation that's a metaphor for life. (My apologies to anyone who did this, I'm sure it's not a blanket thing.)</p>
<p>I would just caution people to really think about how good their short stories are; especially considering that high school creative writing is not as impressive as one might think, especially in retrospect.</p>

<p>LOL i wrote about confessions of a middle school bully...that was actually fun. Tufts has great essay topics, and hopefully they are more about the individual then other schools</p>
<p>I did the Professor Disappeared story. But the title tied in loosly with the actual plot... Whatever. Too late to change anything now.</p>
<p>I was considering doing the Bully story but I figured anyone could come up with a generally humurous dialogue between a principal and a bullly (that was my idea).</p>

<p>I did the bully one! yeah i know what you mean about the bully and principal, but i got a psychologist :p, and i gave every character a backstory, i went over the limit, but it gets really interesting towards the end...hahah</p>
