Short Term Breaks @ Boarding

hey
Do boarding school allow their students to stay on campus during the December and March short term holidays?
What will happen if one is international?
So do internationals basically have to go to their home country 3 times a year?

If you are talking about the 2-3 week breaks, no - kids are not allowed to stay on campus. It is a break for most faculty and staff as well. Most internationals will return home or visit with family or friends stateside.

At SPS we have like midwinter recess and spring recess which are like a 3.5 day break and most people go to friends houses that live close or they go to Boston with a group of friends or something. And you are allowed to stay at school over those breaks.

But the breaks longer than that (Winter Break, Spring Break) you can’t stay on campus

It depends on the school. Some stay open for the short breaks and some don’t. Generally for the longer breaks international students will either go home or will go stay with a friend or family they have in the U.S. or with a student at school that you aren’t necessarily friends with but has offered to take in international students over vacation.

what about exeter?

Exeter dorms are closed during Thanksgiving break, winter break, and spring break. Families of students who live in the Exeter area are generally available to host international students who don’t plan to return home. Just be sure to let your adviser and/or the Deans know if you would like to stay in the area during one of these breaks.
