<p>Sorry to disappoint you, but there’s really no such thing as a “shortage instrument” past high school. There are enough double bass players in the country that music departments don’t NEED to have you. Not being familiar with how your school works, I don’t know exactly how good a B-student is, but don’t expect your choice of instrument to be a huge factor in admissions.</p>
