chances are very good, but your bro should consider some community service to bolster the ec's. i dont think its wise to place all of the ec's into school related activities

I agree with Miragemage. BC really cares about community service. Also it is very important that your brother have a strong first semester. BC has become impossible to get into, and this is supposed to be the most difficult year yet. Without the URM, I think your brother may be a waitlistee.

I concur - suggest that he get involved with some volunteer work or organizations. Don't just run around and join stuff, tell him to find a cause or group he is truly interested in. To be safe, tell him to try to get over 2100 on the SAT.

unfortunately it may be a little late to be starting new volunteer work stuff if hes applying this fall...it could seem like a last ditch effort and actually backfire if it seems insincere.....just a thought though

I agree with ctguy11 about joining in the last minute. College Counselors aren't moron, they know when you beef up your resume in the 11th hour.

If it's any consolation, I got into BC without ANY community service. ZERO. If you're dedicated to an organization, admissions will see that. So, don't fret. It's better to have things that you genuinely like rather than "hey i guess i'll go to a soup kitchen because it'll look good" on your application.
