<p>The upward trend is going to help him a lot, I got in with a lower GPA (but higher SATs), Pomona is a reach for everyone, but if he applied ED, and his essays were strong, he would have a shot.</p>

<p>Well, I'm a high school student like your brother, so take what I say with a grain of salt. First off, I don't think he will be considered a URM. That being said, I think he has a decent shot ED like brassmonkey said. But make sure he gets gread recs b/c his scores/GPA are on the lower end of the scale. And his ECs aren't "amazing" either. To give himself a shot, he should apply ED.</p>
