Shoud I send these SAT II scores?

I am applying ED to Duke. I took the ACT, and read that they recommend subject test. I later found out after taking the SAT IIs that you can submit the ACT in lieu of the SAT and SATIIs. Would I be at a disadvantage not having Subject test when most other applicants will?

Math 1- 620
Literature- 640

I am having a hard time interpreting these scores. I am new to the SAT format, and I can't tell if submitting them would hurt my chance of admission. I personally feel I underperfomed on these Subject tests.

thanks for the help.

...depends on your act score...those aren't very good scores percentile-wise and especially for an ed applicant to duke...i would try not to send those sats, but i think they should show up on your transcript regardless

what was your act score (composite and individual)? That will make a difference.

you sat II scores won't show if you don't send them -- unless your school includes them as part of the school transcript.

30 composite, 27 science, 29 english, 30 math, 35 reading.

I looked up the national percentile for your ACT scores -- it is:

Composite of 30 = 97%
Reading of 35 = 99%
English of 29 = 92%
Math of 30 = 96%
Science of 27 = 92%

so your scores on your ACT are very good.

I can't seem to google the SAT II percentiles, but it would be on your score report. See what your national percentile is for your Lit and Math scores -- and if it is lower than 95% (which I think it is) I wouldn't send them.

Lit is a tough test -- and Math I seems to have a tough curve.

If Duke is ok with just the ACT -- send that.

Thanks a lot for the help!

^ lower than 95%? Are you kidding me? The majority of even harvard accepties score less than 95%, even 90% on their SAT IIs. Its IMPOSSIBLE to get a 95%+ on most SAT IIs.

80%-90% is usually good enough, and for some SAT IIs 50% or above is good enough for elite schools. (Chinese SAT II...lol, 800 is only 50th percentile)

for the record, a 620 or 640 or whatever is way way below 95 perc. (in fact, i think its in the 40s)
