Should a homeschooler weight their GPA?

Yes, but every college will weigh your grades differently.

I think you should, but ultimately; I don’t think it matters unless it’s for a scholarship program or something where your GPA matters and they won’t look at the courses you’ve taken.

I have interacted with UAH. They have repeatedly told me they take the GPA that is on the official transcript. Many other schools will calculate their own GPA for you based on the College’s specific method.

Since Alabama (Tuscaloosa and Huntsville) appear to take weighted GPA from transcripts at face value, it may make sense to devise a weighting system that produces a GPA high enough to pass their scholarship thresholds without looking too exaggerated, if the student has interest in those schools and scholarships.

If your lowest grade is a 90, I would definitely use a grading scale where 90-100 = A, 80-89 = B, etc. Then you’ll have a 4.0 unweighted, and it won’t matter what weighting system any particular college uses.
