I've been asking around to figure out who else applied SCEA to Stanford at my school. According to Naviance, five did including me. What I thought was interesting was each applicant kind of represents a different aspect of our school...
they are:
1 purely academic boy
1 purely academic girl
1 varsity captain boy
1 music girl
1 art girl (me)
I probs have the lowest stats, but I have legacy and am more rounded (journalism/volleyball)
Should be interesting to see who gets in! Last year three students were accepted from my school. Any predictions?

i say academic girl, varsity captain boy, and either you or music girl

it totally depends on what ethnicity everyone is in my opinion

There’s no way to tell. Honestly, even if we knew each person’s stats, it would still be random in so many ways…for example, if your file is opened on a day that they also look at 5 other applicants with artistic interests, you may be at a disadvantage. However, vice versa, if they open up your file on a day that they feel they need more kids with art as an interest, you may just be their lucky candidate. Also, essays count for something; I bet, if you sent in two applications with completely different essays, you may find yourself with different results. Again, it’s another subjective aspect of the college admissions process which you can’t really control. But, seeing as you are a legacy and how your school sent three kids last year, you have a moderately good chance. My school was the same; we had 3 acceptances (1 was a legacy).

thats interesting to see how all those people are grouped so stereotypically.

At my school there hasn’t been a stanford admit for at least 10+ years, do you think this is a disadvantage for me?

academic boy is asian and music girl is indian. rest are white, and varsity boy is not recruited by the way.
rememberme1990 that’s a good way to look at it and in all honesty is probably true, but it is still fun to guess ![]()
azngamer54 i saw a thread somewhere about colleges having “grudges” against certain high schools… can’t find it though. is your school not very competitive? do not many people apply to stanford from there?
