Oh and the letter said I was 1 of 415 accepted out of 3,300 applicants

taylorhoff, I think your letter meant there were 3,300 applicants for 415 spots. The Whitman website has updated their class profile for 2013 ([Class Profile](http://www.whitman.edu/content/admission/learn-more/profile)), and it says:

Applications Received: 3266
Students Admitted: 1462

But regardless, congrats! :D

man, no letter yet. but the status changed as of yesterday, so hopefully i’ll get it monday or tuesday.

Haha yeah, that’s what I meant! Sorry for confusion, I had just gotten the letter

yeah, my status also changed as of yesterday. i have no idea what that means, but hopefully it comes soon. this is pretty much the only college i have left.

I just got mine. It’s large and says Congratulations! on the outside, so there was no question.

And yeah, it is 415 expected class size, 3300 applicants.

i haven’t gotten a letter yet… but someone said that their application status online changed. how do you create a password/login for whitman? i don’t remember ever having recieved one from them??

yeah i hadnt remembered getting a login for it, either. i emailed admission@whitman.edu sometime last week and they let me know what my login id and password was. they were pretty quick about it, too.

your login and password was assigned by them and emailed out on Jan. 15 (I applied regular decision).

EDIT: I just tried logging in and it’s totally different. I guess sometime today they changed my account from a prospective student account to a current student account. It definitely wasn’t like that yesterday.

So my online status has it updated as of 3/23, yet I still haven’t received a letter.

Maybe they mail their last we of letters today and will only update your online once it is sent.

Yeah, I’m in SoCal and I haven’t heard from Whitman yet. I have heard from every other school that I applied to.

Has anyone in the SF bay area heard anything yet? I have heard a rumor that they are behind in sending out acceptances and financial aid. I wonder what the problem is.

has anyone else heard anything??
im getting more and more impatient.

In SF Bay area, and no nothing yet. S Status changed with a date of 03/26/09

OK who wants to call this time? :)

In Western Washington, and nothing yet either. No change on status on web according to D.

kumitedad, I am in a similar position - status date is 3/26/09, and nothing yet (even though I live in Washington!). I plan on calling admissions tomorrow.

For those of you anxiously waiting, it seems as though admission decisions are still being sent out in waves. I live in southern California, and I just received my acceptance packet in the mail today, along with notification that I had been awarded a renewable $12,000 per year Walter Brattain merit scholarship. My online status date changed on 3/24/09, and the postmark date on the package I received is 3/25/09.

OMG! It turns out that you can’t fit three big envelopes in our mailbox, so the mailman left them on the front porch. My daughter found them on her way to dance class.

She’s been accepted to Whitman!

Our mail comes very late. I am sure the rest of you will hear tomorrow. Good luck!
