Neither my common app essay nor my supplement essay for Harvard are about an extracurricular activity. My common app essay is about a person who's influenced me, and my supplement is (this'll sound confusing) about this recent event that reminded me of my childhood and then I connected that back to who I am today/who I'd like to become. Instead of writing about an extracurricular activity that I'm passionate about, I chose to write about things that reveal more about my personality. Is this okay?

This is what I advise. I think the essays should be about how you think and view the world, they should talk about something that doesn’t appear anywhere else on your application. The short essay about an EC is enough, between that and your list, they speak for themselves.
