Should GPA itself really matter?

Hey guys,

Quick question.. hypothetical situation. if there was a student with 3.5 GPA and was in the top 5 % of the class .. and it was hard courseload.. and good SATs .. the college should understand how hard that school is right? because of it good rank and SAts and courseload. so should 3.5 at such a school be considered a disadvantage for top schools.

Yes

10char

Colleges know which schools are competitive so they take that into account when you apply. They also look at the courses you took to see if you took a lot of honors/AP courses. Don’t think that a college will just take your GPA for what it is, they need to be thorough.
