Is there any disadvantage to accepting the waitlist?
If I accept the waitlist and then am admitted to the school but I have decided to go somewhere else can I easily turn down the admission?
Thanks

You can opt into the waitlist at UCLA. You are then expected to enroll at another school by May 1. If you are accepted off the UCLA waitlist, you can forfeit your deposit at the original school and accept UCLA’s offer or stay with your original school. Waitlist is not binding.
You can check the waitlist stats on the common dataset (if available), but getting a server error. Here are the waitlist stats and appeal stats from 2014:
Waitlist: 3,700 offers
2,100 opt-ins
150 admits
(120 CA; 30 OOS)
1,200 appeals
61 admits
Is it possible to accept waitlist offers at two schools? Or does UCLA only allow you to accept a waitlist offer at UCLA?
Go ahead- 23 wait lists? No problem.
