Should I add another match?

So far I have applied to Georgetown (deferred EA), Columbia, Brown, Chicago, and Duke, and I'll apply to GW, American, and FSU by their deadlines. Should I add an additional match or safety school? I have a 3.97 uw/4.53 w GPA, and a 2240 SAT, and I was thinking about applying to NYU. Obviously, it would have to have a later deadline and essays that aren't super-extensive. Bonus points if there's no SAT requirement (which would make the application completely free), and it would have to use the Common App. I'm planning to major in political science, and I would prefer to be in or near a city, on the East Coast preferably. I'm looking for matches or high safeties. Any suggestions (or am I set as it is)?

NYU would be a safety if you are full pay. However, since you are worried about paying for SAT score reports, I suspect that you are not.

McGill or Toronto would be good for you. They are completely numbers based, no essays. They do need SAT’s though.

Pittsburgh would be another safety.

Your list is fine as is. If you want some other safety schools applying to NYU and even Fordham would make sense (if the schools are still accepting applications). If money is an issue, you will likely get a big merit scholarship at Fordham. Maybe also look at Tufts or Hopkins? Again depends on school application deadlines.

If you’re instate for FSU, then it sounds like that’s your only safety (Bright Futures). I think you should add another financial safety ( a school that you know you have all costs covered, that you like, and that will accept you).

might look at Holy Cross-JAN 15th application due date.

What would be a good financial safety? The only schools I can definitely afford, no matter what, are FL state universities. I know it’s nice to have options, but I know I would prefer FSU to any other in-state option, no matter what–I love the campus, I love the location, it has a good political science program, the honors program is good, and I have very strong family ties to the school. If I’m guaranteed to get into FSU and I know I’d be happy there, why add any others?

If you’d be happy at FSU, then you don’t need another safety. :)
