I'm currently signed up to take Art History AP, Statistics AP, and English Lit AP. Should I sign up for a fourth one, or remain where I am?

BTW I also do sports every season of the year, 6days a week.

it depends what year you are in school methinks.

Only if you think you can take it. I am currently taking 4 APs and do sports and can still mantain a 4 point. My friends on the other hand are pulling 3.0-3.5 GPA's when they are normally all A students. Only take as many as you think you can handle, because if it hurts your grades...

But if you're up for the challange, go for it. I'm taking Gov, Calc AB, Chem, and Eng as my 4 AP's and by now, I'm used to my schedule it doesn't bother me much. Heck, I don't even have homework today and I'm just playing around the whole day. But it all really depends on the person... take another one if your up to it. I mean Statistics isn't very hard at all and you can almost consider that "just another math class" instead of an AP. That would leave room for one more AP. :D

It's a personal decision. Do you think you can handle one more? What grade will you be in next year? What do you want to study in college, and where are you thinking about applying to? Generally, more AP classes is never a bad thing unless it's going to overload you and cause your grades to slip in other areas.

I think your best bet would be to discuss it with your school counselor and get his or opinion. Every case and every school is different, and they will probably be able to help you much more than anybody on CC.

Not to take you down - - - Art History and Statistics are pretty easy courses, so in regards to your question, yes, take it.

Wow, a lot of quick responses... you guys just beat me.

If you want to take another, AP Psychology is also an easy course; I'm taking it now.... most of it is common sense.

Oh yeah, it also depends on WHICH extra AP's you want to take. Some are easier than others.

Im taking 4 right now - USH, English, CalcAB and Biology - and I did Cross Country earlier this year. In Addition, I have a class at college every tuesday and thursday, so I essentially have 5 AP's. I think it's pretty easy stuff, and I've done much more work in the past than I do now. My GPA was the lowest its ever been, but my rank is the highest its ever been. Senior year rocks.

I think I'll add on US history next year, cause it seems to interest me, and the class average isn't to bad, so I'm guessing its not to hard. I'm not really looking at it from the stand point of grades as much. Cause the college I want to go to the most, I'll be applying to in August. I'm just wanting to take them cause one, I like the challenge, and two, in hopes it will better prepare me for college.

Well all I have to say is... APUSH always seems easy for people who sign up for it, but is a lot of work so dont expect to do no work and get by. You'll have to do a lot of reading (in my school anyway). But being a guy into history, it should be a great class to take. Good luck :D

My suggestion would be to take classes in the subjects that you're most interested in. If AP's are available in these subjects, go for it. If not, that shouldn't stop you from doing something that you care about.

apush- shivers that class is technically easy, but it's the most work i've ever had to do for a history class ever. The amount of work you'll do is amazing, no matter what high school you go to. It's easy, which is why the class average is probably high, but it's by no means a catwalk
