Should I aim this high

I'm a junior and considering on applying to NU. So I was wondering if my stats were worthy. I hope to go into engineering if that makes a difference.

EC: JV Basketball, Food Justice Intern, CSF, Adventure Club, COSMOS Summer program math and science camp at UC's, LEAD internship program where I'm an instructor in sports like rock climbing, surfing, and snowboarding to at risk kids. I would have been more involved but I was needed at home.

I also have a couple of question, does NU consider freshmen year grades, because I got a couple B's freshmen year.? I also heard that they don't count the writing part of the SAT, is that true?

Don't be afraid to tell me I suck I can take the criticism.

If you can bring up your scores to 700+ in each section, you have a great shot. And yeah, apparently they just use Math and Critical Reading on the SAT

your math score should be above 700 for engineering for sure. besides that you are a minority and have a good gpa, so definitely apply.

You already know your SAT scores don’t fall within the “average” accepted student, and that your grades and EC’s may in fact counter that. Because you took the SAT in your junior year, you may wish to either retake the SATs to bring the scores up, or take the ACT-which may have a format more in tune with your style of learning assessment. G’Luck!
