Should I answer this schools question?

Here is the story. I only applied to two schools this year and was rejected by one and wait listed by the other. The school that wait listed me said they were “very impressed” with my application and that they would like to offer me admission (pending funding issues). At the end of the email they asked me to let them know about any competing offers I have received.

However, I applied to both schools with full intentions of going to whichever one let me in. Thankfully (I guess), I did not have to pick between the two as the other school already said no. Because of this, the waitlisted school has become the one school I wish to attend. I did mention the fact that I only applied to two schools in my application, so they know that.

So I can either…

A) Reply to the email saying I have no competing offers and that this school is the primary school I wish to attend.

Or

B) Do nothing and hope they let me in.

Your thoughts?

If I were you, I would just let them know straight away that I wish to attend their school.
This shows your interest.

Definitely A!

tell them you want to go there. if they think you’re taking another offer, they won’t try hard to put funding together for you. if you ignore the question, they’ll assume you’re not interested.

Send that e-mail ASAP!

I concur :)

Thanks for everyone’s advice. I sent the email today telling them of my interest in their program and I will let everyone know what happens down the road.
