Should i appeal to ucdavis?

hey i'm from san jose too. which school do you go to??

i got to a new school in esuhsd (district). the name is evergreen valley high school. anyway, collegemom16, appeals are based on big circumstantial reasons rather than my want to go there =. i'm going to take your advice and create a list of questions to ask. uc davis isn't very "special" in engineering so it's going to be very difficult for me. rawr i want this so much..

thanks to everyone for their input.

i just got off the phone with a worker in the electrical and computer engineering department. her name is "beth" i think. i asked her a bunch of questions and told her i was appealing at the end. she was surprised since my questions were not normal =P. she asked me to tell her my gpa and sats. i told her and she was surprised i didn't get in! she gave me a lot of tips on the best way to appeal. the tips were basically what i'm going to talk about already so i'm feeling more confident about this. she tied up our conversation with a "i would love to have you as my student." however, i never mentioned my name :[. i hope i get this; i want davis!

I say appeal! You just have too deal with the whole uncertainty of what you're going to do for a while (don't they tell you in like 2 months if they accept your appeal?). I'm so sorry about your cousin. :(

Great job with the phone call. I like that you saved the information about the appeal until the end too. I think if nothing else this call boosted your confience in your approach to the appeal. Now you know you were on the right track. It sounds as though you might have gotten some valuable information about the school also. Good luck, and please let us all know how it goes! :)

go for it

but dont get your hopes too high up...
I think you need to look through your other options because if you're placing your heart on this appeal, all you may be doing is setting yourself up for another disappointment

did you send the letter?? have you heard? probably not yet...it's too early isn't it.

lol sorry, i just sent it in today. i've heard UCLA appealers have not gotten a reply yet (even after 2-3 weeks)...i'm not looking forward to one anytime soon, but...

I WANT DAVIS.
