Should I apply EA or RD?

I am currently a senior applying to the Villanova School of Business and it is one of my top choices. I have heard that applying EA is more competitive than RD, but I really want to apply EA so I can get a reply earlier and it will relieve a lot of stress. So with the following stats, would I be better-suited for EA or RD?

3.49 UW GPA, 3.98 W GPA (downward trend with C in junior year)
1490/2220 SAT (800 math, 690 reading, 730 writing)
800 Math Level 2 SAT II, 660 Physics SAT II
Decent ECs with 2 leadership positions
Working hard on essays, recommendations should be good

Thanks in advance.

Both… lol. If you don’t get in EA, your application gets automatically transferred into the RD pool. You can’t lose by applying EA.

lol yeah. just apply ea. you dont have anything to lose. and if you are deferred to rd, then it will look better to admissions that you applied early

wait really? is that true? because i am in the same situation. little bit lower SAT scores but. want to apply to the school of business and villanova is my number one. So if i apply EA and don’t get in. I won’t get denied just worst case scenario deffered?

Yes, that’s true. And it works that way for almost every other school I know as well. Applying EA or ED can in no way hurt you…

Not all schools have an automatic deferral to the regular decision pool for those NOT accepted during EA.
Providence College has denied some of it’s EA applicants, so as not to string along applicants that are clearly not qualified.Auto deferrals do a disservice to the weak applicants.I am sure there are other schools with this policy.

That being said , Villanova in the past has deferred all applications not accepted during EA ,to the RD pool.

Quick chance judgement is that you will be deferred and then accepted RD.
