Should I apply ED 2 or Regular Decision?

Hello.
I have a 3.68 Weighted cumulative. 3.87 Junior year and a 3.82 so far this year
I am not submitting test scores.
Differed ED to URichmond
I got into Fairfield with 20k a year in scholarships
I have an interview scheduled
Many Extracurriculars, including Varisty sports, work experience, and clubs.

Holy Cross is my top choice, but I am considering I apply RD in hopes of receiving scholarships if this is too far if a stretch I will use ED.

Thoughts?

Is Holy Cross your top choice or Richmond? You applied Richmond ED ?

You’d have much better odds at HC ED. But if you want merit, it’s no sure thing as you know.

So then the question is if you had Fairfield at $20k or HC full pay, which would you prefer ? If HC and you don’t want to wait on Richmond, you have your answer.

Where is this interview scheduled?

With Holy Cross now your first choice, you should definitely apply ED II. They have accepted 80% of their ED applicants in the past couple of years. ED is also the best avenue to pursue financial aid and scholarships.

The ED process is for the benefit of the college. It allows them to more accurately estimate who among those accepted will actually be coming. Holy Cross underestimated the number of accepted students who would choose Holy Cross over their other choices, so this year’s freshman class is overenrolled. They badly want to get that under control, which will only make them even more motivated to accept ED applicants because ED applicants will definitely come if accepted. The bad news is that the 2023 freshman class will likely be smaller than in the past to compensate for this year’s large freshman class, making HC harder to get into than they have been…
