**Should I apply ED II to Stern? Chance me and get blessed :)**

<p>Okay, so guys here's the dealio. I'm definitely looking to do a business major. I want to go into IB. Also, I am considering doing a double major w/ comp sci engg. ( atleast a minor). I applied to Wharton Penn ED and got rejected :( I also applied EA to UMich- Ross, UChicago, Indiana Univ- Kelley, UIUC Cllg of Business. I got accepted to Indiana Kelley and UIUC. I had ade up my mind for a reject from Uchiago but got deferred. I was really hoping for an accept from Umich but unfortunately got deferred. This has been a wake up call for me.
I have already applied RD to UC Berkeley( expecting an accept), USC( Really expecting an accept cuz legacy sister went there). I plan on applying RD to Northwestern, Columbia, Darthmouth, Georgetown( Should I?).
Now the thing is although I know that NYU Stern is extremely awesome for the business/finance/ IB route given that wall street.....
But I see a few downsides to applying ED to NYU:
1) Ive read at alot of places that NYU misses the campus feel etc..(Not really a big deal for me but still...)
2) I dont want later on to regret applying ED if I get accepted to Columbia, Chicago, NW cuz I feel that they are slightly better than NYU in all aspects( Dont get mad at me PLZ).
3)If I go to NYU I wont be able to pursue a double major in Comp Sci. cuz NYU doesnt allow for double majors in different schools( Not that big a deal cuz STERN is so awesome+ Im fine w/ a minorin CS)
4)If later on I feel as though im not really into business I'll be screwed cuz NYU is average in all other fields( Although atm this definitely doesnt seem to be the case cuz im enamored by IB etc.)
That said, there are some compelling positives to applying ED:
I feel Ive got a really good shot at getting in if I apply ED 2. Ill be safe w/ a really good school for Business cuz as of now Im feeling pretty unsafe cus ive got deferred at both UM and UofC. Although Ive got accepted to UIUC and Ind. I would go w/ NYu in a heartbeat if accepted. Also, the schools ive applied to for RD are EXTREMELY competitive. I could very well get rejected at all of them. If this happens Ill be screwed. Even if I get accepted to USC, Berkeley, I feel that Ill go w/ NYU although im not sure. That said, however, if I get into the Ivies, NW, UofC, Umich, I could be regretfull. This has really got me into a dilemma. Should I choose safety( kinda) w/ an awesome biz school or chance w/ my dream schools. You might think Im being really cocky by considering NYU a safety but if I get
reject I will still have Kelley- ranked in top 10 biz& UIUC as well as a likely accept from USC/ UCBerk. So guys help me out. Should I apply ED2 to NYU or not. The way I say it applying ED will significantly raise my chance as opposed to applying RD.
Now, should I apply ED 2 to NYU or not.</p>

<p>C’mon guys I’m really stuck in a rut here. P.S. Sorry for all the typos.</p>

<p>relax…I got into Stern ED1 with a 2010. Look for the FA change ;)</p>

<p>bump 10~~~~</p>

<p>bump bump bump</p>

<p>Do not apply ED unless you are ABSOLUTELY sure about it, one of my friend applied ED and got in and now he regrets it. But, If you are 100% sure then go ahead</p>

<p>Apparently ED 2 and RD doesn’t make a difference at all except that you find your decision date earlier and you’re binded to the school and you don’t get the opportunity to attend any other schools in accepted</p>

<p>But either way, stern is a reach for you. since they only look at highest single sitting with a 1600 score (CR+M), you may be at a disadvantage, since your superscore is only 1440, and according to businessweek, their average sat is 1450 while their top 75%ile is 1520. you’re gpa isnt too impressive and your ec’s are okay.</p>

<p>What an exaggeration^ I got in with a 1310/1600 2010/2400</p>

<p>[New</a> York University: Stern School of Business - Undergraduate Profile - Businessweek](<a href=“Bloomberg - Are you a robot?”>Bloomberg - Are you a robot?)</p>

<p>The Cover has the 1444 -> 1450 average</p>

<p>Scroll all the way down to the students section, and you’ll see the 1518 ->1520 75th percentile score.</p>

<p>Rogahen you might’ve been an outlier or from a less competitive year, but Stern is quite difficult to get into these days</p>

<p>Nvm, you’re an outlier i guess. But either way, Congrats! :)</p>

<p>@UCDreamer Businessweek stats are all skewed up!
The basis of my statement being that if you go to their UMich-Ross SAT average you will see that according to them the SAT avg is 1377 while the 75th per is 1440. [University</a> of Michigan, Ann Arbor: Ross School of Business - Undergraduate Profile - Businessweek](<a href=“Bloomberg - Are you a robot?”>Bloomberg - Are you a robot?) </p>

<p>This is extremely contrary to the class profile that Ross has itself put up on its website. With the avg SAT being 1483.
<a href=“http://www.bus.umich.edu/admissions/UndergraduatePrograms/pdf/BBA_Class_Profiles.pdf[/url]”>http://www.bus.umich.edu/admissions/UndergraduatePrograms/pdf/BBA_Class_Profiles.pdf&lt;/a&gt;
As you might be able to see this is an EXTREME irregularity with the actual avg score being a 110 points higher.
This clearly shows that businessweek is full of **** and hence extremely unreliable.
I would definitely argue that this guy has a very good shot at admission.
Also, I dont know what your source about ED 2 being the same as RD is. IMO it is definitely not so. Particularly since you are giving the school your definite agreement on admission on accepting their offer. This provides an extremely good incentive for them to admit you, thereby increasing your chances of admission. Further, it allows them to maintain a good percentage of YIELD, which in turn improves their rankings/ prestige.</p>
