Should I Apply ED II?

So here are my stats. I am debating whether I should Apply ED II, as I feel it’s the only way I could get in. Any advice or opinions are appreciated!

White, Male

SAT: 1830/2400 or 1200/1600 (CR:620, M:580 and W:630)

GPA: 3.2 UW and 3.6 W (My un-weighted should go up to about a 3.4 after mid-term grades come out)

SCHOOL: My school is ranked the #2 Best School in Delaware and is recognized throughout the country (at least that’s what I have been told)

RANK: My school does not rank.

CLASS RIGOR:
(9th and 10th grade we are not able to take advanced classes unless specifically authorized to)

JUNIOR YEAR:

  • HL IB BIOLOGY
  • HL IB ENGLISH
  • HL IB HISTORY
  • Audited French 4, which was a sixth major on my transcript.

SENIOR YEAR:

  • HL IB BIOLOGY YEAR 2
  • HL IB ENGLISH YEAR 2
  • HL IB HISTORY YEAR 2
  • AP STATISTICS

(Keep in mind the rigor of our school. Our normal classes are very challenging.)

EC:

  • Boy Scouts: I am an Eagle Scout and was a Senior Patrol Leader of my troop (That means I ran the entire troop of 30+ boys)
  • Wrestling: I am a 4 years varsity wrestler and current team captain (actually a wrestling recruit at a lot of DIII schools). I have obtained several awards such 2nd Team Academic All-State and 1st Team All-conference, 2x 2nd Team All-conference.
  • My Own Business: I created and run my own successful business online (Flame Kicks). It is a long story but I have a Nike and Air Jordan shoe business that is run via EBAY. It isn’t a small thing either, I sell at re-sale prices and buy at retails selling a decent amount a month.
  • World Affairs Debate club: President of our schools debate team.
  • Student Advisory Group: I am a member of LINK Crew which is a hand selected group of students who helps incoming freshmen adjust to high school.
  • Community Service: I have 200+ community service hours with the state park services.
  • Model OAS: I have participated in MOAS for three years and have gone two the conference in DC two years.
  • Quiz Bowl: I have participated in our quiz bowl club for 4 years and have been in a semifinalist two years in a row in our state and qualified for nationals in DC.
  • Football: Two year Varsity football player
  • I have also worked with a charity start up called “Serengetee” where pocket tee’s are sold and part of the proceeds go to a charity based in the country the pockets design is from.

COLLEGE ESSAY: About me and my relationship with money through out the years. Starting from selling rulers and candy in 3rd grade to running my own online businesses. I have been told by my college counselor and peers it is very good and polished.

SCHOOL: I will be applying to the Questrom School of Business. I would consider applying to CGS if that was the only possible way to get in but it is not what I am looking for.

INTEREST LEVEL: I would be applying ED II so I think that shows a certain amount of interest on my part. I also have visited the campus and done a tour and information session. I am also on the mailing list.

So I realize that my GPA/SAT scores are between average and below average but I feel with my EC’s and applying ED II I stand a chance. So again any advice or opinions would be appreciated!

Also the GPA is out of a 4.0

The extent to which the GPA is problematic rests on which classes you go which grades in. If you are interested in business, you will need strong math grades.

Choose the CGS option just in case.

So you think there is a chance I could get in ED II even without CGS?

Without CGS it is a reach.

Well I ended up applying ED II with the CGS option in place so wish me luck!

@soxman111 you got in?

No I was defered

@soxman111 well best of luck!!! hope you get in through RD

Time for plan b or c to be plan a.
