Should I apply ED or RD? Will chance back!

Hi guys! I'm really set on Johns Hopkins as the school I want to go to, but now I'm faced with a problem - I feel like my stats aren't too great and so I'm wondering - should I apply ED because it's my first choice or should I apply RD and take that chance to get better grades in my fall semester of senior year? I heard that although ED gives an applicant an advantage, it also tends to be a more competitive pool, while applying RD allows an applicant to get a really strong senior fall semester and boost their chances that way. However, a smaller percentage gets in through RD. So what I'm essentially wondering is - am I strong enough to have a chance by applying ED or should I take the chance of a smaller acceptance rate and apply RD after bringing up my grades during my fall semester?

SAT Subject tests: U.S. History (700) Literature (720)

Class rank: top 11%

Junior Year --> AP English Language (A), AP Physics (B+), AP US History (A), Creative Writing Honors (A), Psychology Honors (A), Latin 4 Honors (A), Trigonometry/Precalc Honors (C+) (weakest link; my first C+ in my entire academic career)

PROSPECTIVE MAJOR(S):
I will be applying Undecided

RECOMMENDATIONS:
1 very strong one from my AP US History teacher (she loved me and I was one of the few people who had the highest grades in the class)
1 very strong and passionate one from my Mock Trial coach (stressing my hard work and dedication and how I grew to be one of our best attorneys through the 3 years I've been on the team)

Apply ED, and even then, send that in as early as you can, so you will be early for the ED. They tend to be less selective to the people that apply the earliest, because they dont have a lot of applications to compare you to! Besides the C+ (Which may be overlooked) I say you are in as long as you have good essays!

Chance me?

JHU ED - high match
JHU RD - low reach, reach if senior grades slip

Johns Hopkins is a reach for you, so apply ED.

Your EC’s lack something that really sets you a part, but being a first-gen immigrant is a nice hook.

Chance back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1553452-chance-low-act-excellent-ecs-kid-will-chance-back.html

Apply ED, and if they defer you, you can send in your second term grades and updated scores and accomplishments, and they’ll add that to your file before they give it a second look during RD.
The school is need blind, so hopefully money isn’t a huge issue (or otherwise if you’re in, you can’t compare financial packages between other schools)

I see you as a Low reach if you go ED, and a Reach ED. You look like you’ve a damn good shot. Good luck with it all!

Chance back?

Thank you all so much for the advice!

If anyone else wants to add their input to get chanced back, I’m always looking for more opinions :)

I would also apply ED as you’ll have a better shot. The only thing holding you back is your UW. Otherwise your application is decent.
