I am currently of junior going into my senior year of high school and I want to go to school in DC for political science. I want to go ED to GWU because they have a higher acceptance rate when applying ED but people have been trying to convince me to apply to Gtown. My standardize tests scores are not George towns standards but my rigor of classes and GPA is. My extra curricular are by far the strongest aspect of my application. I have 4 years varsity ice hockey. captain junior senior year, president of honor society, VP of FBLA, VP of class, editor of school newspaper, travel ice hockey, principal advisory committee, Intern for assemblyman and congressman. I have the congressman writing a letter of rec. for volunteer i help with challenger ice hockey once a week which is also what i will write my essay about.I am also very active in my church. I will graduate with 6 Ap classes and the rest honors. I have all As aside from math which i have bs but i still have a 4.0. This summer im taking a poly sci class at a local university and working on a congressional reelection campaign. I am very good at interviews so I would definitely do interviews and my I have only taken the SAT II fr history and did very well on it.
So if anyone could offer their input it would be much appreciated. Should I apply ED to GWU or wait and apply EA to Georgetown?
Can’t you do both? Unless Georgetown is SCEA you could apply both ED GW and EA GTown
Georgetown allows you to apply early action to several schools but not early decision to other schools
What was your SAT or ACT score? Will you be retaking?
Apply early to Georgetown; you will have no problem getting into GWU regular decision so you might as well do EA to Georgetown, especially if it’s your first choice
