Should I Apply ED

I plan on applying to Cornell for engineering for a major in chemical and biomolecular engineering. I'm wondering whether I should risk financial aid and apply ED, and if I apply ED would I be able to take SAT II's in November and have them still count?

What are my chances based on these stats, and do you have any tips to improve my chances. I dont mind you being critical and truthful.

Race: White (middle eastern) male
First generation student

GPA- 3.6ish (unweighted) 3.9ish (weighted)
Class Rank- Top 16% (517 students) very competitive class

SAT- 700 Math, 650 Critical Reading, 700 Writing....Will be taking again with a high chance of doing better since these scores were my first time taking it... and also maybe taking ACT
SAT II- Soon taking Math 2 and Chemistry....should be no problem getting 700-800 on both for me

AP
World History-4
Chemistry- 5
U.S. History- 5
English Language- 5
Calculus AB- 5
Biology- ? (probably 5)
Physics C- ? (probably 4 or 5 on both parts)
Psychology- ? (probably 5)
Statistics- ? (probably 5)
Macroeconomics- ? (probably 5)
English Language- ? (probably 5)

My weakness seems to be my GPA, class rank.

Your Thoughts and Comments are Very Much Appreciated

The financial aid part is something that you and your family need to decide together.

Yea financial aid is very important since my family is around 60k income, but I was wondering since Cornell meets 100% aid, and eliminates student loans if under 60k income (i think under 75k for 09-10 applicants) would my aid package if accepted ED really be different. They wouldn’t be able, for example, to increase my loans vs. grants, and if I was offered less aid it wouldn’t be meeting 100%. I could be missing something here…

bumpity bump

Well you are missing something. Assets. If you have a lot of assets you have to report, you will get screwed come Financial Aid time. But I think you stand a good chance of getting in.

My assets should not be a problem…we have a house (not very nice) and two cars that are nearly 10 years old…and not allowed to drive them either…lol…
