im thinking about applying ed...but ive never visited!
is it worth taking the risk that i will like dartmouth, cause from everything ive seen and read i think i will

it depends on whether you know ur a picky person or not. i know that when i read about wesleyan i absolutely loved it and then when i visited i knew that i wouldnt even apply. and when i read about dartmouth i didnt think i'd like it but then when i went i knew i wanted to apply early. i think u'd def have a better shot if u applied early. but u have to know that thats really what you want.

Anyone in the admissions office will tell you that applying ED does not help your chances; the stats are skewed because all the recruited athletes, who usually get in anyway, apply ED. How true this is, I don't know, but applying ED definitely does not give your chances such a boost that it'd be worth the risk. I loved Dartmouth when I visited (I actually went twice -- and it's a 10 hour drive -- before deciding to apply ED), but when I visited Trinity, a college which I thought would make the perfect safety, I hated it. Websites and brochures are designed to make you fall in love with the college. You might end up loving Dartmouth, but there's always a chance you'll end up hating it.
