Should I apply EDII or RD??? What are my chances?

Hi everyone,
So Lehigh is my second choice school, I applied Brown for ED. The decision came out today and I got deferred.
Now I am not sure whether I should apply EDII or RD to Lehigh.

My teacher reminded me that if I applied EDII I might be less likely to be considered for merit-base scholarship.
Is that true in this case?
Lehigh’s admission office says ED applicants will still be considered for scholarship but I’m not sure if that’s true. I’ll definitely not be eligible for need-base financial aid but I really wish I will have scholarship.

So what are my chances if I only apply RD? Please help! Chance me!

IB: English A Lang&Lit HL
Chinese A Literature HL

Extra Curriculum / Community Service: maybe not so fancy but still…
Columbia Science Honor Program (taking relativity & quantum mechanics);

have a part time job as translator (I translate movies’ subtitles from English to Chinese); treasurer for school’s lunar new year show;
leader of school’s math team;
went to University of Michigan’s summer program;

internship in local library

My counselor helped me a bit with my essays. My common essay was okay, I think my writing supplement essays for Lehigh are better though.
I chose the question: If your name were an acronym, what would it stand for and how would it reflect your strengths and personality?

My recommendation letters are written by my physics teacher and math teacher, we know each other really well

Intended Major: Engineering (mechanical / electrical)
I’m a female so it may help? A little?
Also I’m an international students, I know being an Asian sometimes may hurt lol, but I heard Lehigh intended to have more international students so.

Plzzzzzz help.
I’ll keep waiting.
THANKSSSSSSSS!

somebody!!!

Your best chance would definitely be if you went ED11. Your hooks are being a female, engineering major and an international student. You have excellent SAT and academic credentials but this might not help…it could even hurt you. Lehigh would easily reject you if they felt you were using them as your safety school. You must show interest and then show even more interest. If Brown is your first choice you may not even really like Lehigh…completely different schools in many ways. Visit and spend time with students at both schools.

your a lock!!

I agree with earlier poster – Brown and Lehigh are very different environments. Also, though Brown is more presigious as an Ivy, Lehigh has a far more robust engineering school. You would be a lock ED 2 at Lehigh, I would think…I don’t know the answer to the merit aid question. If you whiffed ED to Brown, chances go down in RD.

only thing I want to say here, is that as an engineering school Lehigh is stronger than Brown, i do not think the prestige of being ivy does much at all for your case, since coming to Lehigh I have realized how underrated the institution is, just some input there, (note I have a friend going to brown and I talked with her about this) also ED applicants have a way better chance, so you would most likely get in, scholarships are interesting here I know a few ppl who got them, I wish I could tell you more sorry, hope in some way this helped
