I am debating whether or not to apply to NYU EDII. It is my top choice but the only reason I am debating applying Regular instead of ED is because another school is so close in second place on my list and I would be just as happy going to that school. I got my first decision back today, rejection from Ohio State's Business School, and I'm fearful on whether or not I can get into NYU regular so I think I should apply EDII.
Another reason that I din't apply EDI was because I need the GPA boost from this year.

Here is my information:
GPA from Freshman - Junior Year weighted and unweighted: 3.4, 3.0
GPA Senior Year so far weighted: 3.7
School does not rank
SAT (CR,M,W) : 570,690,630 - 1890
President of 2 clubs and VP of another

I am applying to the Liberal Studies Core Program. Please let me know if you think I could get in Regular or EDII. Thank you in advance!

Truthfully you will definitely need EDII in order to get into NYU. The average is around 1350 SAT and 3.6 unweighted gpa. Your SAT is fine, but the gpa is killing you right now. Before making your decision, compare the stats for both NYU and your other school and pick the one that you think you have a better chance to get into without EDII. I know it sounds weird, but this maximizes your chances in getting into one and minimizes your chances for the other. Not saying that you can’t get into the other one. It is a little risky, so i advise you to think carefully before applying. I did the same with NYU Stern when I applied EDI and now I am just waiting for the result.

Unfortunately, an unweighted gpa of 3.0 is going to kill you. I don’t think you’d get in even if you applied EDII because the average stats for an NYU acceptee are around a 1370 SAT, and a 3.7 uw gpa. You’re not really meeting any of the academic averages and your ec’s aren’t promising. Doesn’t look like you won any awards, did any community service, etc. Maybe you should consider some other schools on your list and not bank on getting into NYU in EDII? Good luck man.

Hey the acceptance rates for ED2 and RD are almost the same for NYU…
Like the above post-er said, if you have to ask yourself this question then you probably shouldn’t

Hey guys I was wondering I am applying to NYU ED2 but I don’t have a very high unweighted gpa (lower than who created this discussion) as I messed up my freshman year. But I have taken all ap classes and since my freshman year I have gotten pretty much all A’s and B’s i advanced classes but that unfortunately didn’t help my gpa at all. So what do you think my chances would be in that regard? I have a pretty high act score and I am involved in extracurriculars (i was elected officer for English Honor Society, for one) and I’ve wanted to go to NYU for as long as I can remember but I don’t think I’d get in but i would like to know your take on this. And on a side not my gpa out of 100 is 98 if that makes a difference. And i have a 3.78 gpa weighted.
