Hello. I am an international student and I am applying to 9 colleges. My total family income is 27,000 per year. The deadlines of applications are approaching and I want to apply for fee waiver. So, Should I ask me councelor to send letters to universities and request application fee waivers? I have one more question: what if I get rejected for a fee weaver, what am I supposed to do then? Will I have the opportunity to pay then, or?....

If your fee waiver is rejected the college will tell you that you need to pay the application fee in order to move forward with the admissions process

Keep in mind that most schools are not need blind to international students. This means your ability to pay will be a factor in the financial aid process. A fee waiver does scream I need money and lots of it. Since you have to also submit your finanical aid forms and declaration of finances, the school wil see for themselves that you need money, and lots of it.

You might as well ask and use the fee waivers as schools that are not need blind are still going to make the same decision if they cannot fund you.

Thanks a lot So, tomorrow I am going to send FedEx packages with some of the materials and I should put my councelor’s letter in it, asking for application fee waivers, shouldn’t I?

you might as well because you have nothing to lose

Thank you :)
