Should I apply for Cornell CALS AEM or ILR? For business

I have to make a decision really soon, because of the supplement essay. So basically, I'm stuck between AEM or ILR. Initially, I wanted to apply to AEM but since it is extremely selective, I'm getting worried that I would just get flat out rejected. Plus, I don't have any business ECs (my school doesn't really offer much)

On the other hand, I was just planning on applying to ILR. I think I like it b/c it has a wide range, including business but it includes other stuff that im not really into (ex. pre-law) but I'm thinking that if I get accepted here, I might try to transfer into AEM. Either way, Cornell is my dream school so it would be really great if I can get accepted. AEM is ideal, but I would be certainly happy with ILR as well.
Should I go for the gold, or play it safe???

I'm aware that there's a primary/alternate option, but I heard that Cornell doesn't really like students who utilize that feature b/c it makes them look "uncommitted."

If your first choice is AEM, then apply to AEM. Don’t apply somewhere just because it is “easier” to get into.

I don’t think applying for both would hurt your chances because the programs are so similar.

@TheMaskedPanda @Kungpaoasian‌ Thanks for the advice! Yeah…I’ve been trying to push myself into applying AEM but it’s harder to do than say. Getting accepted into Cornell is a huge goal to me :)
