If I plan to graduate May 08 (a year earlier than usual), however I'm not sure if I will be missing any credits by then, should I still apply for Fafsa (for safety issues) in Spring 08? What if I do graduate in time for May, and I applied fafsa already do I need to let them know or they will know I'm no longer matriculated? I'm torn between on time graduation in May or summer 08. Cuz right now I'm a Junior/Senior status with 75 credits if I pass everything this semester, and then I plan to take summer courses which is another 6 credits. I'll be down with 39 credits left (of 120 minimum) beginning Fall 08'. My plan is either 21 fall, 18 spring or vice versa and in addition if I happen to not pass anything in case, I'll take summer course...unless I fail a lot and owe them 9 credits or more then I'll stay for another term in Fall 08? But I mean of course I wouldn't look forward to failing anything for the heck of it.

Are you talking about graduating from college or from high school?

College of course.

YES! There is no problem with doing FAFSA just in case you carry forward an extra semestre, but if you don't do it, it will be too late for priority funding by the time you need it. If all goes as planned, then don't worry, simply decline the aid when it is offered.

Talk to your school's financial aid office and ask them. That's what they're there for.
