Hey everyone, my name is Jack, I have been posting on this forum for a while now, I would like your opinions on whether I should apply for fin aid. i know this is weird, but i am applying from canada without american citizenship or perm residence. Even though Dartmouth says I am needblind in admission, some people i have talked to are saying it'll jepardize my chances. I am debating on whether i should check off the box on common app. The problem is my parents aren't paying for my education, and they don't make much, together <$100000.
so i can either not apply for fin aid and get loan (a lot)
or i can apply for fin aid and "maybe" jepardize my chances
thanks guys

Jack

Since you are from canada, Dartmouth is need blind in the admission process for canadians. if you need aid it is in your best interest to apply for aid as the cost of attendance is now around $43k /yr

however, I really want to attend dartmouth, do you think applying will jeopardize my chances? thanks a lot :)

Need blind means that they don't consider how much money you need when going over admissions :) Good luck

You have nothing to lose in applying for financial aid, and it will not jeopardize your chances at all. It's a pretty long and tedious process to apply for it, but it's definitely worth it if you qualify.

Definately apply for it.
