I'm almost finished with my application, but I don't know if I should apply to Summer or Fall. This is all based on an entrance percentage.

I heard that people who applied for Fall got Summer B as a back up, and I don't want to apply for Summer B and not be chanced the "extra admission" if I may.

I have a 4.0 unweighted and a 28 ACT

I'm taking 5 AP classes as a senior.

I just want to know what is more beneficial to apply for.

Apply for fall. They will place you where they want to place you. Where you apply has nothing to do with admissions. It used to be easier to get in if you applied for summer, but it’s not done like that anymore.

My stats were extremely similar to your’s, and I thought I would have a better chance if I applied for summer, so I did. I had some things come up, and needed a term change to fall. My guidance counselor contacted the head of admissions who looked at my application and said that I wasn’t the type of candidate that they would normally place in summer, so you should be good.

Apply for when you want to go. You don’t really have an advantage either way, since they’ll just place you if they feel like you aren’t up to snuff for fall. They change semesters, but it’s a hassle, so just apply for when you think you want to go.

From an admissions presentation I attended, a 4.4 seems to be the safe zone for UF. Bump up your ACT a bit to a 30 if possible and you shouldn’t have much of a problem.
