I've just looked at the application for the coca-cola scholarship, and it seems to be heavily oriented toward EC's and community service, which just is not me.

I have a 3.97 UW and 4.83 W GPA with the most rigorous schedule possible, and I scored a 2320 on the SAT (on my first attempt). I have taken 8 AP courses and 10 AP exams, and have earned all 5's (except for a 4 on AP NSL).

In addition, I've won a good number of awards. I am a National Merit Semifinalist, a semifinalist in the 2011 USAPHo, a National AP Scholar, member of my school's physics bowl team, etc.

I do not have any significant community service experience however (I did barely enough to meet my school's graduation requirement). Should I still apply for the scholarship?

Well, the whole scholarship is based on volunteering and community service. In my belief, you should volunteer, not for your benefit, but for the benefit of your community. It seems as though the only reason you would apply for the scholarship is for your benefit and no other reason.

But then again, if volunteering and helping others is not your cup of tea, I would not suggest you apply because at the end, they will find out if you’re truly who you claim to be on your application.

I wouold like to find funds for college. For the summer semester there is no FINANCIAL AID. I have two courses to take before I graduate and they are each 4 credit hours. I need 541.12 by MAY 1st…SO How can I get assistance with this matter. I attend a 2year college.

In my opinion, there are easier scholarships to apply for. I’ve tried to get awarded the coca cola scholarship for 3 years now without success. However, I’ve received over $15,000 in other scholarship awards, and tried a whole lot less with all the scholarships than the CCS combined. Not to say you shouldn’t do it, there’s just easier ways to get scholarship money for college. I am still going to apply every year I can, but don’t limit your choices and put all your effort into CCS. For example, there are [no essay scholarships](http://scholarshipsngrants.com/no-essay-scholarships/) available that don’t require anything but a quick submission of information.

They are pretty easy to find, just do some quick google searches.

Well the Coca-Cola Scholarship is only available to seniors so that could be a factor as to why you have been unsuccessful three times.

Also, definitely take the time to apply to the Coca-Cola Scholar, it is so much more than just the money, it is an amazing experience. In my opinion, if you have strong credentials then its easier to get a merit based scholarship than a random no essay scholarship!
