I just noticed an interesting internship at a hospital. The job entails developing a music therapy program for the patients (outlining the goals, recruiting musicians...etc) I love music and think it would be a great way to develop administrative skills.

However, I'm planning to pursue a career in finance, and this internship obviously does not relate to my field. Should I bother getting it? Could it potentially benefit my resume in other ways?

No. I currently don't have any better alternatives. I'm just worried it would be a waste of my time since it's not related to my field. It's also unpaid.

Well, what are you going to be doing without this internship? Are you just going to sit at home and waste a summer away? If so, I suggest you do this internship because it at last shows you are responsible and w/e while working.

Your chances of getting a finance internship this late into the summer are pretty much zilch. Start focusing on the school year and into next summer.
