I want to apply to Carnegie Mellon early decision, but I'm not sure which college to apply to. I want to double major in physics and statistics. My overall gpa isn't * that * great, so I'm a bit worried about the chances of me getting in.

I took the math II and physics subject tests, getting an 800 and 740 respectively. I haven't taken any physics at my high school, all either at local colleges or self studied (I got a 4 on E&M self studied)

I took AP Stats, and I had the teacher before. I'm also going to do an independent study in stats with him, and I want him to write my recommendation letter. I did really well in his class, A+, and got a 5 on the exam.

The reason I am unsure about this is because of my extracurriculars. I am leading our Science Olympiad, and I do Science League and Bowl. I do Robotics, so I feel like it is more relevant for applying to MCS rather than HSS. I also do debate which I am an unofficial informal kind of leader, and Model UN.

Also my passion has is and has always been science, I am writing my essays focused on how much I love it, and how it is a major part of me. Much of my interest in statistics comes from its related nature to the scientific process and experiments, so I don't know what is better for me to apply to, or if it even really makes much of a difference. What should I do?
