should i apply next year (fall 2014)

Okay, I’m looking at applying to ND this coming fall of 2014 and I was wondering what I can do to make myself look like a better applicant by that time.

Freshman Year: 3.67
Sophomore Year: 4.3/4.5
Junior Year (first semester 4.3 trying for a 4.5)

I came across this thread and started to consider ND for pre-med even though it is probably a bit of a reach:

Lastly
-Applying to be a part of NHS
-taking us history and lit subject tests in june

i also don’t know if this matters but i did get the rookie of the year award for my sport freshman year and have been all-league every year as well. i have to start figuring out what kind of schools i have a chance at so if you’re reading i would appreciate if you would give me a few school you think that i could or should apply to as well. thank you so much!

Appsfordays,

Posting in this thread is not going to help you at all, it is only going to make you more paranoid. None of us work for admissions for Notre Dame and none of us can help you. If you want to go to Notre Dame then the only way you can go is to apply. You will have no shot if you do not send in that app. Posting vague stats on CC will do nothing. So if you are expecting an actual response on this then I’m sorry. Go finish you junior year and then apply if you want to in the fall. That’s all there is to it.

I think that they were posting their stats just for an opinion from a community that is somewhat familiar with ND, not because they believe everyone works for admissions. Some kids have a budget and can only apply to a limited number of schools because of the cost. If this is the case, posting stats to see if you may or may not be qualified does help them as it can narrow down where they will apply. While I agree that you cannot solidify an answer regarding someones admission fate and that you will have to simply apply and see what happens- getting a few opinions can be beneficial. Good Luck and I hope someone can give you some kind of advice/tip/opinion!

If you want to attend ND then you should apply. Check with Naviance at your HS (if you have it available) to see where your statistics slot in.
