should i apply now?

Got back my ACT score today and im thinking about sending it all in this week. Are my stats good enough to get in as a ChemE major? or should i wait till I see my SATs next week? Does UI mix and match SAT and ACT scores?

out of state
3.8 uw gpa 4.44 w gpa
24/511 top 5 percent
ACT: 29 Comp. 25 english : (/32 math/30 reading/30 science
SAT: will get results next week, pretty confident about writing and math only
ECs: academic decathlon, dance, french club - treasurer, NHS, drill team
Hardest courseload every year
AP scores: ap chem - 3, ap bio - 4
essays are pretty good and nerdy like about engineering camp ha
oh yeah im a female and a minority if that helps

tell me what you think

Your class rank is solid but your ACT score is a tad on the low side for ChemE. They convert the SAT to ACT, so I would suggest waiting for those scores since it's just another week.

do they mix and match scores? cause i think my CR score will be pitiful but my math and writing will be a lot better.

You should apply now. Class rank is good, ACT is still within middle 50% though lower part of that. You have good shot with what you have already. UIUC does not mix and match ACT or SAT scores. It considers highest composite score. Being out-of-state does not mean anything (treated the same as in-state for purposes of admisson). You need to apply and get everything in by no later than November 15 to get the advantage of UIUC's "priority date" -- those who get everything in by that date are given somewhat of an advantage over those who apply later. UIUC, for all its engineering programs (including Chem E which is actually controlled by the Liberal Arts & Sciences college), treats women as URM's although the plus factor will not be as strong for Chem E as other engineering programs because Chem E traditionally has had 35% or more women enrollees unlike other engineering programs where women make up less than 20%.

any other thoughts?

how do u send transcripts? when u hit submit do they give u directions? is ther anything else u need to send?
