Should I apply or not?

I am an international high school student preparing for SAT,TOEFL etc. I want so bad to be accepted at an US univesity,but I don't have money to pay for college.I have a normal financial situation. How many chances have international students for financial aid or maybe a merit scholarship + work on campus?

There are schools in the US, that provide need-blind financial aids to international students. (Harvard, Princeton, Dartmouth etc…) If you are one of the top students in your school, you should give it a try!

I think you need to be one of the top students in your whole country, not just school.

You don’t have to limit yourself to the needblind schools. How much can you contribute, though? Say the school covered tuition+room and board. Would you have enough for plane rides+books+other expenses (bedding, weather-appropriate clothes, etc)? Because most schools don’t cover any of that. If you can afford that, then many LAC’s accept internationals, but the process is extremely competitive, and you do need to be a top student. Do you have any idea what your SAT score would be? GPA? EC’s? Those things matter, if you tell us your stats we’ll probably be able to give you a list of schools you can look into.

Until now my SAT 1 is 2000,but I want to get 2100-2200, my SATs 2 (history :750 but i’ll try for 800 and I have to take math 1 soon) My GPA is around 3.75 .
My EC are voluntary work at red cross 3 years, member of Youthbank,Debate club,I received 2 scholarships for 2 summer camps (Aspire academy and Leadership autentic),I participated in some projects about non formal education and leaderships with students from Brazil,UK,Canada and so on, I was voluntar at International educational festival in my city , International festival of literature and some festivals in my city. I was part of the organization team. On summer I worked 3 months on a bank ,it was like an internship and I got paid for it. Now I expect to see if I got accepted in voluntary team of the national theater .

If you have 1400 CR+Math and 3.5 GPA cumulative, University of Alabama will five you full out state tuition for 8 semesters.

How much can your family pay? Can they cover the cost of travel to and from the US, and can they help pay for your books? Can they help pay for your housing and meals? Find that out. Then go look through the threads on guaranteed merit-based aid and competitive based-aid that are in the Financial Aid Forum. Some of those scholarships are open to international applicants. <a href=“Links to Popular Threads on Scholarships and Lower-Cost Colleges - Financial Aid and Scholarships - College Confidential Forums”>Links to Popular Threads on Scholarships and Lower-Cost Colleges - Financial Aid and Scholarships - College Confidential Forums;
