Should I apply to a top-tier school?

I am still undecided as to whether or not I should apply to top-tier schools. I applied for ninth grade last year and got waitlisted at Exeter.

EC's:

Piano 7 yrs, passed grade 6 ABRSM piano exam
Flute 3 yrs
Tutoring 5 hrs/wk for 2 yrs
Student Government Secretary, 1 yr
Math Club 2 yrs
Literary Magazine, editor, 1 yr
Tennis 3 yrs
Latin Club 1 yr

I volunteer at a food pantry 2 hours a week and have been doing so for at least a year. I have been learning spanish for 5 years and latin for 2 years. I've won a national poetry contest and been published in a poetry book.

Grades:

All A's since 6th grade and mostly A-'s so far this year. I am in all high honor courses.

SSAT:

Verbal 76%
Math 89%
Reading 94%
Overall 91%

Do I have a chance of getting accepted to a top-tier school? I feel like my SSAT score isn't high enough and that my stats dim in comparison to the students that have been accepted to these schools. After being rejected last year, I feel like it isn't worth it to go through all the work of apply again if I don't have a chance of being admitted.

You are an excellent candidate except for the fact that Your Essays might have been bad, interview went bad and something of that kind. Go to MY profile and look at mY post, it’ll give You an idea of what You are competing with

^ I’m applying to tenth grade, so we would not be competing.

True, but it is about the same, and i wasn’t talking about myself in paticular, it was just for You to get an Idea

If you don’t feel sure at this point that it is worth applying, then don’t. You’re wasting time. If you still have a burning desire for BS then do so. If not, rather focus on your grades at your current school activities, prepare for SAT’s and enjoy the rest of high school.

I am applying to BS, I’m just unsure about applying to a top school.
