CMC has an ED acceptance rate of about 20% and an ED of 9%

1310 SAT
GPA W (my school doesn’t do UW) 3.77 w/an upward trend and 4.2 UW 1st quarter senior year
RD:
1375-1400+ SAT (I have been practicing SATs lately and got this score usually)
GPA cumulative through senior year 1st semester is 3.9 W (4.4 senior year)
which pool of applicants is more competitive? and do they look at 1st semester grades if 1st sem ends 2/4 and ED notification is 2/15? CMC is my 1st choice school
Well, RD is generally going to be more competitive, but you have to weigh the advantages and disadvantages. Your GPA and your SAT would be better in the RD round, but you’ll be facing stiffer competition.
Are your parents willing to pay full price for a CMC education? Or have you run the NPC? You are past the deadline for merit aid.
@yonceonhismouth don’t they have good financial aid? i ran it in the calculator and it says around 12k for a house of 75k income

@camwow yes, they do provide decent financial aid but if you apply ED you are committing to go there, meaning you also commit to paying whatever they decide is your contribution (even if that is a stretch for your family). That’s why I suggested running the NPC.
I don’t know if they will look at 1st semester, for that school-specific question I would email them. I would assume so, but you said your quarter ended 2/4 and that might be too late.
Does ED 2 usually have a higher acceptance rate like regular ED?
ED 1 is a little higher, like 25% @froshprospective
